On the other hand, TM waits until the very last step of the restore process to suddenly tell me I don't have permission to access the files I'm trying to restore. I simply drag the files out of BIT to my desktop or whatever folder I want.
The other reason I use BIT instead of TM is that I don't get permissions errors with BIT like I often do with TM. Lastly, I have created a virtual copy of my Time Capsule backup in BIT so I can quickly check first to see if the data I want is available before mounting the Time Capsule backup (the virtual copy takes up very little space - only 650 MB for a 900 GB backup). And if I prefer, I can ignore the Time Capsule backup and work only with another one that I have on an external drive (the problem with TM is that it insists on loading all available backups). In contrast, BIT only needs 10 seconds or so to scan the same Time Capsule backup. If I enter Time Machine, I end up waiting about 5 minutes for it to scan my 900 GB Time Capsule backup before it will let me do anything.

Disappointed to say the least: The program works fine with external hard drives, but it does not work with my Time Capsule.
